Daya Vocational Training Authority (DVTC)
Daya Vocational Training Center is one of the five government institutions under the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, operating under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training through the Vocational Training Authority. These institutions are a result of the historic Zanzibar Revolution of 1964.
The Center was officially inaugurated on October 15, 2020, by the then President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Ali Mohammed Shein.
Located in the Northern Pemba region, in the Wete District, Daya Village, and Mtambwe Kusini Shehia, the institute was established by the Zanzibar government with the goal of enhancing skills and education for the youth. The objective is to equip them with vocational training that will enable them to secure employment in the government, private sector, or start their own businesses, thereby improving their personal income and contributing to the overall national economy.
Daya Vocational Training Center also provides dormitory services for both male and female students.
